Flintoff had a second disappointing match of the series, scoring 29 in his only innings batting at 7. He was only given 5 overs in Sri Lanka's first innings and six in their second and took only two wickets. This raises serious questions about his position in the team, he was batting too low to considered a batting all-rounder, but was given too few overs to be considered a bowling all-rounder.
